Okay I need to know the name of the Rock you were under if you have not heard the case of JonBenet Ramsey. This media bliss (with the recent arrest of her supposedly killer) blew the terroist activity off the front pages.
Creepy wannabe murderer John Mark Karr returned to the United States voluntarily where he faced charges for the killing of JonBenet Ramsey. Thanks to the muckraking efforts of cable news and press reporters, we learned what delicacies Karr consumed during his flight from Thailand, among other details about his personal life. Now: Name the other story last week involving the murder of a pretty little girl.
You wouldn't know because this story of these rich sububanites have dominated the media. We have so many chidren who sit in front of the televison with their parents, taking in these events and seeing this image of this young girl over and over again. We don't know the fear that some of these children have if things are not explained properly.
The pain suffered in this tragedy is a TV ratings gain. What a blessing for the cable news bozos, that just when the American public finally tired of being force-fed every other white girl in distress, the dead for a decade JonBenet comes back to join us, and is kind enough to bring an alleged child porn connoisseur with her. Is that harsh?...perhaps.
We need some base, salacious scandal to titillate us in our spare time – otherwise Nancy Grace and her hideous grill wouldn't have a job in television. Court TV would no longer have a place in your basic cable package.
The violence in our urban public schools has reached and all time high. The fact is that the children know that their educators are afraid of them. We see situations such as this in the movies and on television, however the reality is that this is real. Children do not fight with fists anymore, they use guns. Knives are now considered weak.
One reason these children feel they have to fight is because society, in my opinion has written off urban schools. Those more intimately familiar with conditions in urban districts point to dilapidated and unsafe buildings, administrations hopelessly mired in politicized and inefficient bureaucracies, and an endless series of reforms that never seem to lead to genuine improvement.
Urban school failure is pervasive. It is indicative of all of the nation’s largest cities – New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, and not uncommon in small towns such as East St. Louis, Poughkeepsie, Camden, and Compton. It seems whereever poor people are concentrated and employment is scarce, public schools are almost always very bad. In many parts of the country, the problems present within urban schools are perceived as so numerous and intractable that the term "crisis" is frequently applied to describe the situation; and this is how it is described by those who haven't given up hope completely.
It is not a "black" thing it is people thing. The issues confronting urban public schools in the United States are profound and deeply discouraging, characterizing their plight as either one of crisis or utter hopelessness is inaccurate. Nor do such grim portrayals serve as a genuine diagnosis of the problems or shed light on what should be done to address them. Such descriptions do, however, play an important role in influencing popular conceptions of urban schools, and ultimately have an influence on how policy makers approach the task of "fixing" them. The educators(teachers) who brave this madness to try and teach also face so much opposition. Laws that were put in place to protect the students also hinder the teachers. It is not uncommon to find a student threatening a teacher. Even if a teacher trys to raise the level of her voice to gain the classroom attention, this can, and sometimes does result in his/her dismissal. Teachers are at the students and administrative's mercy.
I don't see this current Government really giving a rat's ass about what is happening with our educational system. It seems more focus is overseas then in the homeland. In the meantime the people who suffer are the children, because they don't care ...because they feel no one cares about them.
I am dating again. Why? I have no clue. Yes I do. I am lonely. Sometimes getting up, getting that cup of coffee, staring at the screen. That doesn't do it for me. I need to hear a male voice sometimes. When you live by yourself it sucks. You do little things throughout the day to try and past the time. This includes work but still it is not the same.
I started this blog as some form of therapyhy for myself, but maybe also because I do have this intense desire to write. I feel comfort when my fingers glide over the keys.
Well, back to the topic at hand, dating...sigh...WHY the hell is it so complicated. Why can't we just meet someone, know that is the one..and live happily ever after like that snowwhite chick in the fairytales.
I have a date with two dudes this weekend coming. One is on Saturday, the other one is on Sunday. I thought if I did it fairly close I could make a decision if there is a love or lust connection. Actually they are both about 20 years older then me. I know damn!!..

I don't see myself as an Anna Nicole clone though, well maybe her PRE Trimfit days. Well we'll see. They both are not my preference but they make me laugh and they can actually spell the word articulate.
