HBCU Aide Arrested, Accused of Theft
This is such sad news to read that at Florida A&M University has been arrested on charges she stole $55,344 from the campus, a university spokesman stated. She was arrested the morning of January 23, 2008, on charges of grand theft.
Officials said that investigators had been looking into cash management problems at the university’s Pharmacy Clinics.
Coverson, an administrative assistant and an employee for nearly five years, was identified as being responsible for the alleged discrepancies that resulted in unaccounted cash and checks of $55,344. This matter was subsequently referred to the FAMU Police Department. The University has begun the process of terminating Coverson's employment.
