Remy Ma

Remy Ma

Rapper Remy Ma was yesterday convicted on four charges of assault by a Manhattan Supreme Court grand jury. Remy has been in trial since March 10 for shooting her childhood friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, in July 2007 over a $3000 dispute. Barnes-Joseph spent three weeks in the hospital after being shot and it left her with two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Reports indicate that the victim had three separate surgeries to repair the damage. Remy Ma faces up to 25 years in prison.

What is Obama's religion

Many cannot get Obama's religion right. One in 10 voters believes Barack Obama is Muslim, a mistaken impression that lingers across party lines, a poll showed Wednesday.Fourteen percent of Republicans, 10 percent of Democrats and 8 percent of independents mistakenly think he is Muslim, according to a survey by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. Just over half of each group correctly identified him as Christian, while about a third said they don't know his religion.

I wonder if a married a man named "Goldstein," would people automatically think I was of the Jewish fate? What does a name have to specifically do with a person's religious choice?

The Pew poll
was conducted March 19-22. It involved telephone interviews with 1,503 adults, including 618 Democratic and Democratic-leaning registered voters. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3 percentage points for all adults and 4.5 percentage points for Democratic voter. The poll also states the Wright affair hasn't really hurt Obama among Democrats, but he is still having trouble with the older, white working class.

Paris States "West Africa" a Great Country

See the mind is "indeed" a terrible thing to waste. She makes "Nicole Simpson" look smart. Good grief crazy woman, West Africa is not a country.

Usually I don't give any credence to stupid ignorant comments but I had to post his doozy by Paris Hilton. Maybe she got that knowledge while she communicated with her jail buddies in Los Angeles.

While vacationing with her boyfriend, Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, in Johannesburg, South Africa, this past weekend, Paris was asked for her thoughts on South Africa. Her response?

"I LOVE Africa in general, South Africa and West Africa. They are both great countries.

.....and now back to our regular sponsors.

Wendy Williams Husband in Hot Water

Here we go again. That want to be woman, Wendy Williams is in hot water again. Always some controversy with this chick. It is "alledged" that her husband made a sexual gesture (well several) to Nicole Spence (a talent booker).

Miss Spence , filed a formal complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Monday (March 14) where she alleged that Williams' husband and manager, 33-year-old Kevin Hunter, harassed her on a daily basis, propositioning her for sex on numerous occasions.

Well, come on Miss Spence, look at Wendy. I know that is cold, but she is not any beauty queen. That is no reason to make advances towards anyone though, (especially since he is married).

Well Wendy Williams response to her allegations against her husband was
"Her allegations are totally false. This bitch is out of her mind."

Walgreens Racial Settlement Approved

A federal judge has signed off on Walgreen plan to pay $24 million to settle a federal lawsuit alleging racial bias at the nation's largest drugstore chain. This settlement resolves the past lawsuit with about 10,000 past and present black Walgreen workers. They will split 20 million dollars.

The attorneys involved in the case will share the difference, in fees separate from the settlement amount.

Walgreen said it has 230,000 workers in its 6,237 stores in 49 states and Puerto Rico.

Check Out The "Obama Doll"

Doll company Herobuilders has created an 8-inch tall Barack Obama doll. Unlike the life-sized version, the creepy looking, pint-sized presidential hopeful does not come with a guarantee to bring about real change in Washington.

That doll looks nothing like Barack Obama.

Dallas Talk of Trading "Pac Man" Jones

Racist Follow Obama to His Own Site

http://msunderestimated.com/NewBlackPantherPty.jpg
Just as Obama is trying to bring the focus away the controversial Reverend and other probes into his private life along comes a racist on his own site to stir up more trouble.

Obama will stir the 'Melting Pot' into a better 'Molten America,'" states an endorsement from the New Black Panther Party, or NBPP, which is a registered team member and blogger on Obama's "MyObama" campaign website.

Sadly we cannot control everything that finds its way on our websites. Even here on blogger with all the so called, "privacy controls" the occasion a-hole will find their way in the comments section. Sadly Obama cannot moderate his site, because then he will be accused of censorship and not letting free speech reign.

Malik Zulu Shabazz, NBPP national chairman, who has given scores of speeches condemning "white men" and Jews, confirmed his organization's endorsement of Obama in an interview with World Net Daily. Shabazz said aside from promoting black rights, he also supports Obama because he may take what he called a "less biased" policy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

I doubt if Obama is the one that personally maintains his campaign website. Truth be told anyone can come in and endorse him.

Lousiana Celebrates African American Heritage

Louisiana tourism officials have unveiled the first 26 sites on an African American Heritage Trail running from New Orleans to northern Louisiana. The trail will also help boost back the economy. Some places on the trail include the Hermione Museum in Tallulah, which is currently hosting an exhibit on the famously successful hair-care entrepreneur Madame C.J. Walker

Slave quarters at Evergreen Plantation in Wallace, La., are on the list of places recently unveiled as the first 26 sites on an African American Heritage Trail.

Spanish moss hangs off trees along the road leading through Evergreen Plantation's slave quarter area. Louisiana's new African American Heritage Trail is designed to tell of African Americans' contributions to the country and the world, said Chuck Morse, a state tourism official.

In contrast with the squalor of Evergreen Plantation's slave quarters, the areas originally designed for public view demonstrate an opulence more common at English baronial estates.

David Patterson visits Harlem

Well, not too good a week for David Patterson. I think he meant well by being upfront with his infidelity, but sometimes it is best to keep some things to ourselves. I always thought that when folks come out and volunteer things that usually more coals are about to go in the fire.
Okay, what I don't understand is his wife also admitted infidelity. Has it come to this that before you take any elected office that you have to bear your soul to the public.

I once heard a saying, "he who is without sin cast the first stone. " Some of the same people who are so critical are also those don't want those skeletons being dugg up in their closets.

Anyway, Governor David Paterson received a warm welcome at a Saturday meeting at the Reverend Al Sharpton's National Action Network House of Justice in Harlem, where he reaffirmed his commitment to his official duties. I don't know if aligning yourself with Al Sharpton is the way to go, but he did want the people of Harlem know he will never forget his roots.

It's All About You "Mr. Bush"

Well, it is quite obvious with anyone who listened to Dubyah's speech yesterday that it was all about him. It sure as hell wasn't about the military. As an ex military member, I support my brothers and sisters out there supporting this crazy "one man" war. When Dubyah reaafirmed his commitment to "accept no outcome but victory" in the war, I just felt the only other thing he could of done was smell his armpit and grunt.

I have to put up this quote because this says it all, "Bush's approval rating five years ago, at the start of the Iraq war, was 71 percent, and that 40-point drop is almost identical to the drop President Lyndon Johnson faced during the Vietnam War," CNN polling director Keating Holland said.

If you are progressing why are the numbers "regressing" Mr. Bush?

It is a slap in the face to leave those military members out there, just for your own political glory. Glory whick will not come before November.

Kimora Lee and Djimon Hounsou-New Fragrance

The fashion-designer-turned-reality-star spoke with PEOPLE at Wednesday's launch of her new fragrance, Fabulosity.

It seems everyone is jumping on the fragrance kick. If you are not running a shoe line, a clothing line, a restaurant chain, then you have to have a cologne or fragrance. I buy my scents according to what smells nice. So if the fragrance doesn't smell good, I don't care who is endorsing it.

The True Casualties of the War

On March 20th 2003, our Nation as we knew it changed forever. The main reason for the war (as told by our President) was the fact that Iraq possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). This of course was in violation of the 1991 agreement.

U.S. officials claimed Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda had been cooperating. They claimed that we needed troops to go in there (Iraq) and stabilize the country ( a country traumatized by the tyranny of Hussein and Al- Qaeda). America was also told reasons for the invasion stated by officials included concerns over Iraq's financial support for the Palestinian suicide bombers, the severe violations of human rights abuse and of course setting up a democratic rule in the country.

Well, here we are 5 years later and still we are fighting and "endless war." A war that has killed hundreds (on both sides). We need to bring home our military members. The Iraqi people have long since hated the presence of the Americans there. It is no longer a matter of "protection, " it is a matter of intolerance. Our military are facing a "Vietnam" type existence. The faces of the people they are protecting, are similar to the faces of the Al-Qaeda that want them dead.

Saddam is Dead. Why are we still over there? 5 years later and no answers.

Am I My Brothers Keeper?

This is the question I ask when I heard that Barack Obama felt it necessary to defend himself against someone elses words, thoughts and opinion. Why? Is it the old theory that the friends we keep reflect the views we share?

I have several friends like Reverend Wright. Friends, who though mean well, open mouth and often insert foot. They speak for me without knowing my full evolution, without knowing my day to day outlook on even minuscule things in life. They state thoughts and ideals based on their own feelings and through association feel I share the same sentiment. However, unlike Barack I don't have to answer publicly to their stupidity.

So I guess before you enter into any major office, that you review your friends, family, and associates. It is important that you relocate those that might tend to "stir up the pot" so to speak. However, if we change any aspect of the past (to appease those who know me only for the present ). Barack Obama is a victim of visualization. It is this visualization that causes his "race" even to be called in question.

One day I hope before I die, to see this Nation go beyond color and totally view any political candidate by the words and deeds they have set forth to do for this country. I hope this to be true one day.

Black Rabbi Spreads His Faith

“I am a Jew,” said Rabbi Capers CFunnye, “and that breaks through all color and ethnic barriers.” The rabbi has his congregation on the Far Southwest Side of Chicago. This is a predominantly black, and while services include prayers and biblical passages in Hebrew, the worshipers sometimes break into song, swaying back and forth like a gospel choir.

Rabbi Funnye grew up as a Methodist but was not satisfied with his spiritual journey. He says, "Judiasm" has helped to renew his sense of his own spirituality. In the past, efforts to reach out to the mainstream Jewish community have been met with suspicion and rejection, said Lewis R. Gordon, the director of the Center of Afro-Jewish Studies at Temple University

“People ask me, ‘As if you aren’t already in a bad enough situation being black, why would you want to be Jewish?’ ” said Tamar Manasseh, 29, a lifelong member of Beth Shalom.
That is why many groups stay separatist, aligning themselves more with black nationalism than with traditional Jewish groups.

Obama denounces Chicago minister’s sermons

Barack Obama was quick to denounce the words of his ex pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Wright who made inflammatory remarks against the United States and accused the country on bringing on the attacks of 9/11 by spreading terrorism could not be reached for comment.

I feel Reverend Wright has the right to his own opinion on certain things, the problem is when you speak as if you are speaking for others. Obama was not even in that church the day that sermon was preached. Preachers should leave politics out of their sermon. I want my Pastor to help with my salvation, not to give me their own political convictions.

The church has long been the focal point in the black community for many things. This was the forefront in the Civil Rights Movement. The church was where many people stood together to hear words of encouragement to enable them to battle the "Jim Crow Laws."

Obama was right to distance himself from this rhetoric. He was quoted as saying,

"I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies," Obama said in his blog posting. "I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it's on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Reverend Wright that are at issue.

Obama is not the black people's new Savior, he has come to unite rather then to be divisive.

Janet Cuts Up on Tyra's Show

Tyra is so crazy. I must admit Tyra doesn't care what she says to any of her guess. Janet knows that plastic surgery is her friend. Tyra will ask those questions that Oprah won't. I think this is the most honest I have ever seen Janet on television.

A private security guard filed a complaint after finding a hanging noose at the firm of

Eli Lilly headquarters last month. That security guard was set to speak with the media
Thursday afternoon, but it appears some last-minute legal maneuvers put a stop to it.
The woman said she found the noose hanging from a tree near a parking garage at Eli Lilly headquarters. The contract security guard said she was terrorized by the disturbing symbol of hate

It was further claimed that nooses were also found at different Lilly facilities in 1996 and 2004.

A Look at Reverand Otis Moss

http://obamesque.wordpress.com/2008/03/14/meet-reverend-otis-moss/

The previous article is a very well written on the new pastor of Trinity Church. Several newsorganizations are still reporting on the racially-charged words of Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, the founder and retired pastor of Barack Obama's Chicago church, Trinity United Church of Christ.

The Chicago Tribune profiled Moss in mid-February, reporting that, "Like other young black pastors replacing elders who lived and fought alongside Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., he must find a way to preach a relevant social justice message that acknowledges the gains of the civil rights generation yet addresses the racial disparities that still exist.

Update on Megan Williams Case

http://pvdugas.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/carmen-williams.jpg

This is an update on the Megan Williams case. Two defendants, Karen Burton (46) and Frankie Brewster (49) charged in connection with the torture of a black woman in Logan County last summer have received the maximum sentences possible.

I am so happy to hear these convictions. How can someone have treated a human being like this was beyond my comprehension. How the authorities did not sanction this as a hate crime is beyond belief.

http://mylifeofcrime.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/6-suspects.jpg

The 21-year-old Charleston woman was rescued by Logan County sheriff's deputies on September 8th last year. Burton's 23-year-old daughter, Alisha, and George Messer, 27, both of Chapmanville, both pleaded guilty in February to kidnapping and assault and received 10-year sentences. Their are still charges pending against Brewsters's 24 year old son Bobby and Danny Combs 21.

Chinese Guns Sales Contributed to Carnage In Darfur

Chinese sales of assault rifles and other small arms to its ally
Sudan have grown rapidly during the Darfur conflict despite a U.N. arms embargo, a human rights group said on Thursday.

A study by the Human Rights First, stated that China was the sole supplier of small arms to the Sudan (which pays for the weapons with its oil revenue).

Who is paying for China's unconcern is most
definitely Sudan's Darfar. They don't know or care about what are the internal issues going on in that area. So more death, disease and of course dislocation. The Human Rights group called on Bejjing to stop the sales. They have also pressured other countries to link this to the Bejjing Olympics.

Updated Informaton on Jamiel Shaw

Jamiel Shaw

According to KCBS NEWS, it looks like they have found the killer of Jamiel Shaw. A known gang member Pedro Espinoza was scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse on the capital murder charge in 17-year-old Jamiel Shaw Jr.'s slaying in the 2100 block of Fifth Avenue, just steps from his Arlington Heights home.

Jamiel was an up coming football star. His dad had mentioned that already several football organizations had been approaching him.
Jamiel's mother, Army Sgt. Anita Shaw, was serving in Iraq when her son was slain. She called for community action to stop gang violence.
I am just happy that they have a suspect in custody. Sadly, this is an occurrence that affects the community everyday. It is not just this one case. It takes the media to bring cases like this in the forefront.

Many mourners gathered at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ for a funeral service for Shaw -- who was remembered Monday night at a public viewing as a young man with a promising future that was cut tragically short.

I spend several years in Los Angeles, where I had to watch the "colors" I wore and what my kids wore just to go to the store.

Troopers Resign Over Racial Incident

Two of South Carolina's top law enforcement officials ( Public Safety Director Jim Schweitzer and Highway Patrol Col. Russell Roark ) have submitted their resignations amid criticism of their handling of a state trooper who used a racial epithet during a traffic stop four years ago and threatening to kill a suspect. The trooper was simply reprimanded at the time and then suspended. Their was immediate public outcry. The Governor, Mark Sanford said the trooper should of been fired.

It appears James Schweitzer, who's the highest ranking officer in the Department of Public Safety will not be renominated. Schweitzer says he's disappointed to leave the agency under what he feels is politics at its worst. He'll continue as director until the next one is appointed. Sanford decided not to nominate Schweitzer for a second term after viewing a taped traffic stop.

The tape, along with another one showing a woman handcuffed to front bumper of a patrol car,was submitted to the Governor. He was outraged that these men in both incidences were merely let go with a warning and one got a 12 hour suspension.

Already Reginald E. Gosnell, is being touted by some former troopers as the right choice to head Public Safety, according to an e-mail sent to some state senators, who must confirm Sanford’s choice.
