Old School Friday-Singers I wish I could be like

There are so many singers I wish I could be like but when I first read this weeks Meme's topic, this lady came to mind.

Angie Stone:- Angela Laverne Brown on January 30, 1961) is an American R&B, soul, and neo soul singer-songwriter, keyboardist, record producer, and occasional actress. She has just recently been nominated for the Best R&B Performance By A Duo/Group W/Vocals Grammy for her duet with Betty Wright for the hit single "Baby". (courtesy of Wikipedia)

I read her bio and could relate to many struggles in her life.

This is one of my jams, and it doesn't hurt that it samples Gladys Knight. I agree she is certainly a talent, and worth admiring.

I didn't know her background ... but, I love the vibe of her voice and the song you shared with us. Betty Wright is one of my all-time favorites ... so it sez alot about who she is to know she had a duet with Sis. Wright!

This was a very nice choice, particularly for the reasons you've stated. I have loved Angie from the very first album. Have all of them. I don't think she's gotten the recognition she deserves. People started to take notice when Brotha came out though.

This is one of my favorite songs by her, "What goes around comes around, what goes up must come down."
