Barack Obama Drops It Like Its Hot

Well, if anyone had any doubt after seeing the speech by Obama then they would know TRULY what the word "Change" stands for.

As the daughter of immigrant parents who brought my sister and myself to this country for an opportunity for success, all I could do was stand in my living room and applaud. I applauded for all the naysayers who for months was saying "Obama did not have an foundation in speeches." Who stated that "change" was just this new HYPE word. That his campaign was based off of mindless rhetoric.

As I watched so many faces in the crowd (like mine) who wanted to grab a chance of hope, all I could do was cry. The irony that this was also the 45Th anniversary of Martin Luther Kings speech did not escape me.

This nomination by the Democratic Party (win or lose ) for Barack Obama has not only started a new era in our Nation, but shows what America truly stands for-UNITY. His nomination stands for a chance, a hope that anyone who strives to truly represent all the fundamental values that America stands for can now do so regardless of color, creed or race.

This and more is what America stands for...

U.S. Democratic Presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) (R), Jill Biden and U.S. Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) (R) stand together on day three of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) at the Pepsi Center August 27, 2008 in Denver, Colorado. U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) will be officially be nominated as the Democratic candidate for U.S. president on the last day of the four-day convention. (Photo by Mark Wilson/Getty Images)

These were the words that our country needs to hear now...words of hope.
