Ludacris -Back to School Foundation

Well perusing Shae Shae's blog I came upon a wonderful post about a rapper (Ludacris) giving back to his community. The Ludacris Foundation was created in 2001 (officially) with the premise of making a difference in the lives of today's youth.

This is their vision and mission statement (taken from their official website- Ludacris Foundation)

VISION - To inspire youth to live their dreams, uplift families and foster economic development in the community.

MISSION - To show young people they are the architects of their future and instill our "Principles of Success" - a roadmap for achieving dreams. To connect with our youth to build stronger families and communities.

HISTORY - Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, William Engram and Chaka Zulu were the inspiration for the development of The Ludacris Foundation (TLF). The foundation is based on the principles Ludacris learned at an early age: self-esteem, spirituality, communication, education, leadership, goal setting, physical activity and community service. Officially established in December of 2001, The Ludacris Foundation was created to make a difference in the lives of youth. These men have illustrated their deep-rooted tradition of community service, which has broadened with their celebrity status. The Ludacris Foundation is committed to helping youth help themselves.

TEAM - The Ludacris Foundation includes a team of 11 hardworking individuals with an average of twenty years of professional experience ranging from corporate executives of Fortune 500 companies, legal, healthcare and finance fields, as well as the music industry. These individuals have come together as a team sharing the same passion and concern for young people.

Currently the Ludacris Foundation is hosting a Back to School Program, $25.00 is all it takes to help underprivileged kids to go back to school and get the education they need. Some children do not have the books, the clothes, and other things needed to go to school and excel in their life.

Please help.

Great post! And thanks for the shout. You used one of my favorite pictures of Luda too. Those lips make me want to do things I can't discuss in this post. ;-)
