This was one of my favorite songs back in the day. I just loved the beat. Their hit from this album, "Funkytown" spent four weeks at Number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts in the United States and was awarded a platinum record. It reached number two in the United Kingdom and was a hit throughout the world.

This next hit, you know even the PRESIDENT was doing it..I was addicted to this song and dance. Macarena" is a Spanish song by Los del Río about a woman of the same name, or any woman from the La Macarena neighborhood of Seville, Spain. It was very successful between 1995 and 1997.

The song became the second longest running #1 and best selling debut single of all time in the US. It was ranked the "#1 Greatest One-Hit Wonder of all Time" by VH1 in 2002.

You know I had to have my Reggae in old school Friday. So I chose the group, "Musical Youth." The group featured two sets of brothers, Kelvin and Michael Grant, plus Junior and Patrick Waite. The latter pair's father, Frederick Waite, was a former member of Jamaican group The Techniques, and sang lead with Junior at the start of the group's career in the late 1970s. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist on its 25th Anniversary on February 23, 1983. They were also one of the first black groups to perform on MTV.

Funky Town I didn't realize that was a one hit wonder. I guess I really don't know much about the group either.

I hated that Mac a Mac dance.
