CNN Reported today that:
Sen. Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died following a bout with cancer, Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. We all know that when a flower blooms, there is another flower that has withered. Barack's victory (and yes I am claiming it) would of course be sweeter if he knew that the woman that helped raise him were there to share it with him.
Sadly that won't be the case. "She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure." These were the words spoken today by Maya and Barack.
Obama and Soetoro-Ng asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held "at a later date."

I'm so glad he didn't listen to those jerks criticizing him for going to see his grandmother. If he had he wouldn't have been able to say goodbye in person.
I sure was hoping she could hang on until after the election. Maybe she had seen enough and was proud enough not to have to wait.
