Well another Mayor has been indicted for "supposedly" crimminal actions. This time it is Mayor Sheila Dixon. She was indicted Friday on charges that she accepted illegal gifts during her time as mayor and City Council president, including travel, fur coats and gift cards that she allegedly used for a holiday shopping spree. She was also charged with theft under $500, fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary and misconduct in office.
Well, in her defense she got to look good when she steps out that limo. Seriously though, what is what our politicians? Mayor Dixon, also served on the City Council from 1988 through 2007 and as council president.
Baltimore has had its share of ups and downs over the year. The city needs some good support. I think folks that use to watch the series, "the wire" (like myself) thought that so much of that stuff was fabricated, but speaking with some of my friends from Maryland, sadly a lot of it is true.
If the people of Baltimore Maryland can't put their fate in their political leaders to instill change in their community (without profiting themselves) then where does that leave them?
