Well the Associated Press has issued a statement by Universal Music Group that rap artist and hip-hop mogul Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter is stepping down as president of its Def Jam Records unit, effective by the end of the year. He said however he will keep doing his music for Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam.
MediaTakeout.com is reporting that Jermaine Dupri might be the next contender for the job. Jermaine has an eye for spotting talent so that might be a smart move on Universals part.

Iconix Brand Group, Inc. – new owners of the Rocawear brand -- has entered into an exclusive global licensing agreement with beauty giant Elizabeth Arden for the development, marketing and distribution of men's and women's fragrance, cosmetics, and skincare products.
The debut fragrance is planned to launch in the fall of 2008.
