Finally someone has opted to make this into a movie. Diary of A Tired Black Man', which was written, directed, edited, scored and produced by Tim Alexander, and will release the film in February 2009. This is the waiting for exhale for men. I think it is about time we see the male perspective on black relationships.
Well, the Oscar Nominations are in. It seems that garnering millions and millions in a box office opening is not enough to get you an Oscar Nod. “American Gangster,” the Ridley Scott epic starring Denzel Washington as a Harlem heroin kingpin, received attention in only two categories: best supporting actress (for the veteran Ruby Dee) and art direction.
I might add that the movies that were nominated for best picture, I only saw one of them. Juno. Which I hope wins. It was an excellent movie. “There Will Be Blood,” “No Country for Old Men” and “Michael Clayton” lead the nominations, including the best picture category.
It is about time Ruby Dee is recognized though. Such a wonderful actress.
