The True Casualties of the War

On March 20th 2003, our Nation as we knew it changed forever. The main reason for the war (as told by our President) was the fact that Iraq possessed Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). This of course was in violation of the 1991 agreement.

U.S. officials claimed Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda had been cooperating. They claimed that we needed troops to go in there (Iraq) and stabilize the country ( a country traumatized by the tyranny of Hussein and Al- Qaeda). America was also told reasons for the invasion stated by officials included concerns over Iraq's financial support for the Palestinian suicide bombers, the severe violations of human rights abuse and of course setting up a democratic rule in the country.

Well, here we are 5 years later and still we are fighting and "endless war." A war that has killed hundreds (on both sides). We need to bring home our military members. The Iraqi people have long since hated the presence of the Americans there. It is no longer a matter of "protection, " it is a matter of intolerance. Our military are facing a "Vietnam" type existence. The faces of the people they are protecting, are similar to the faces of the Al-Qaeda that want them dead.

Saddam is Dead. Why are we still over there? 5 years later and no answers.

I'm glad that you stopped by today. This is a beautiful celebration of these men's lives.

Bush had the nerve today to say that these and other lives and all the money spent is worth it.

There is nothing worth these lives.
