Guests thought pressure cooker bomb was a hubcap

News sources report the lid of the pressure cooker bomb was located on the roof top of the Charlesmark hotel approximately 35 yards away. By now everyone who has available and working media has seen the horrific images from the bombs that exploded at the Boston Marathon.

The dailymail reported that a guest at the hotel thought it was a hubcap from a vehicle damaged in the bomb. Not long afterwards the FBI and other investigative teams questioned the man and it was deteremined it was indeed a vital clue from the terrorist who killed 3 and injured  183.

Condolences to Barack Obama's Grandmother

CNN Reported today that:

Sen. Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died following a bout with cancer, Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng. We all know that when a flower blooms, there is another flower that has withered. Barack's victory (and yes I am claiming it) would of course be sweeter if he knew that the woman that helped raise him were there to share it with him.

Sadly that won't be the case. "She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure." These were the words spoken today by Maya and Barack.

Obama and Soetoro-Ng asked that donations be made for the search for a cure for cancer in lieu of flowers. A small private ceremony will be held "at a later date."

Tribute to Aaliyah

Wow, time sure flies. It seemed like yesterday I was getting the shocking news that Aaliyah had died. Aaliyah came on the seem like a freight train in 1994. Her album "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number," went platinum immediately.

By the time 2001 had rolled out she was not only a budding actress but seemed to be on the verge of building a musical empire as well. Her album titled, "Aaliyah" was (to me anyway) one of her best albums.

Sadly tradegy struck while filming one of the cuts from that album " Rock the Boat," in the Bahamas. Her plane (carrying her and her entourage home), crashed.

It not only took from us a wonderful musical artist, entertainer, but also a sweet person.

Rest in Peace Aaliyah, we will always remember you.

Bernie Mac 1957-2008

Bernie Mac has died in a Chicago-area hospital from complications due to pneumonia. He was 50. I love Bernie Mac. He was, in my opinion, a great entertainer (as well as comedian). Many know him from his show "The Bernie Mac Show," however many forget his career span was much longer than that

Bernie Mac was an American actor and comedian. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Mac gained popularity as a stand-up comedian. He joined comedians Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and D.L. Hughley as The Original Kings of Comedy.

After briefly hosting the HBO show Midnight Mac, Mac appeared in several movies in smaller roles. His most notable movie role was as Frank Catton in the remake of Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels. Mac also starred in several movies, including Mr. 3000. He was the star of The Bernie Mac Show , which ran from 2001-2006, and earned two Emmy Award nominations. (as taken from Wiipedia).

Kenya Death Toll Continues to Rise

The death toll in Kenya continued to rise on Sunday as at least 20 more people were burned and hacked to death as members of incumbent President Mwai Kibaki’s Kikuyu tribe clashed with Luos, who are supporters of opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The violence since Kenya's December 27 election has taken on a momentum of its own, with cycles of killing and revenge between tribes who have never reconciled divisions left by colonial policy, and exacerbated by politicians.

This is sad to see unfold, as we know war never solves anything. I always say that America is so fortunate in the fact that political opposition does not garner killings and war. If you say you are a democrat to a republican you do not get your head chopped off.
