Wedding Congrats to Essence Atkins

Actress Essence Atkins married her beau Jaime Mendez in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday. It was a match made in Internet heaven.




They met on match.com "I wrote him a quick little note that I had read his profile, and then I signed off, Happy SAD Day – that's Single Awareness Day," says Essence, 37, who appeared on the UPN sitcom Half and Half.

Mariah Carey Married

I have been hesitant to write about Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, simply because there really has been no confirmation. However Bahamas official have confirmed that they have gotten married. After dating less than two months, Carey, 39, and Cannon, 27, got hitched in an impromptu island ceremony in the Bahams. Nick Cannon, who proposed to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks last year after just four months of dating. (The pair split last October.)

What was the rush?

It has been reported even Cannon's family was surprised by the move. "It's crazy right! We're definitely happy. Well wishes!" Cannon's brother, Gabriel, tells PEOPLE. "I'm trying to be like him and I love him very much."

JayZ and Beyonce-Married?

According to some folk "B" (as JayZ calls her) married long time ago. This is just something a little more for the family. Do I believe that? yes. The way the media surrounded all the guests car and everyone trying to get that money shot was ridiculous. TMZ they had this minute by minute watch an recorded every piece of paper that moved along the sidewalk. ET was there as well flashing away in full force.

People Magazine actually touched off the celebrity wedding watch this week when it reported the couple, who have been dating for several years, had taken out a wedding license in Scarsdale Village, New York, valid for 60 days.

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton fanned the flames when he reported the wedding would take place Friday, then followed up by posting the address of Jay-Z's apartment as the location.

I know this is going to sound bad, but I am just waiting until the "baby" shows up 3 months from now (tongue in cheek). I am happy for Beyonce though, because she and Jay have been kicking it for more than a minute. Now that is a powerful musical union. I wonder if there was a prenup?
