Old School Friday- The Graduation Year

Yeah, Yeah, I know it is Saturday, but now they got me working on Fridays late :-( So I guess I have to start doing OLD SCHOOL FRIDAYS on THURSDAY. Anyway, I decided I love the theme this week and wanted to participate. Now I graduated in Jamaica from Merl Grove High School in 1979. That was indeed a BOMB YEAR! (of course 1980 was the really cool year!).

So here are some favorite joints that were jamming back then.

This was the song my "first real" boyfriend and I slow danced to. Everytime I think of him, this song pops in my head. It was "Reunited" by Peaches and Herb

and HEY SHAE, don't hate, but you know PRINCE is my dude too!

This was one of my alltime favorite songs from Prince

Of course I can't end without my REGGAE MON! Here is the wonderful Dennis Brown.
This man was almost as popular as Bob Marley. I had this serious crush on him.

You always introduce me to some excellent reggae...thanks!

Great picks this week!

"Reunited" is one of those songs that I can hardly stand. It used to make me mad back in the 90s when I would go shopping for old school R&B CD compilations because that song would be included 9 times out of 10.

"I Wanna Be Your Lover" is one of my favorites! The first time I heard it, I thought it was a female group (ala The Emotions). Excellent choice!

I don't know how I missed you last week..
These are great picks!!
Especially loving the PRINCE!! I almost agree with Malcolm that had to be one of the most overplayed songs in history! But when it first came out it was great!
