Instructor who forced students to vote for Obama fired

One of our  rights is the freedom of speech. This right aside from the following limitations, gives people living in America the protection of freedom of expression ( exceptions: libel, slander, obscenity, and sedition). It clearly does not give people the right to force their political or religious opinions on others.
Apparently a Brevard Community College (BCC) professor did not get the memo. The college has fired Sharon Sweet, mathematics professor today. According to published reports John Glisch stated the board terminated her with an overwhelming vote of 3-1.
“The termination took effect immediately, ending pay and benefits for Sweet who had been suspended with pay under provisions of the United Faculty of Florida collective bargaining agreement with the college, pending the board’s pending the board’s decision,” the school added in a press release.
What was she thinking?

I see why Halle Berry has been lashing out so heavily at the press lately. She is in "mama cub" mode

TMZ reports that Halle Berry is pregnant and the baby is a boy. (video below).

I truly hope though the paparazzi leave her and her growing family alone. I don't know sometimes the price of fame is NOT worth it. At 47 it will be a challenge but she looks to be in fine shape.

T.I. Preparing Himself for Jail Term

Time flies is an understatement. I bet T.I. is wishing it didn't. T.I.'s one year jail sentence is creeping up rather quickly. However, since his sentence was handed down, the rapper has been putting in work with the little time he has left.

His song "papertrail" has been a mega success. His jail term is March for felony weapons charges . He is planning for his family and other plans before he transitions into incarceration.

He told MTV a video for "Dead and Gone" is next, with Justin Timberlake

Congrats to Mary Hopkins

Some of you might ask, "who is Mary Hopkins?" Well, Mary Hopkins is the first black woman to earn a doctorate in math from Florida Atlantic University, and only the third among all state universities since at least 1990.

When told of her pending place in FAU's record books, she said she was "kind of aware of it" - a modesty that extends to her assessment of her algebraic ability.

"I just had very encouraging teachers," said Hopkins, who spent a full hour last week working out a lengthy math question in front of her classmates and professors.

I often wonder why positive news like this does not make it in the front pages of our media. Instead we are graced by "stereotypical" news about African Americans that have brought now our community.

This woman represents a strong set of black women who are not only entered into a Mathematical field (once only recognized as a male academic achievement) but who is encouraging and mentoring other young women in this field.

All eyes were on Michelle Obama's dress on November 4th. Barack looked sharp as can be in a dark navy suit, which was custom made by Hart Schaffner Marx, but I have to say, I was not feeling Michelle's dress. (red and black Narciso Rodriguez frock.) Let it be known though, that CLASS has just entered the WHITE HOUSE since Jackie O!

'I seem not to be the only one talking about Mrs. Obama's election night attire. Yahoo! users are searching like crazy for info on her dress, while critics are weighing in on whether it was a hit or miss. I give her props for being bold and daring!

HIT OR MISS...that is "TRIVIAL." History was made that night, so realistically she could be wearing a POTATO SACK and I wouldn't of cared!

Since her selection as John McCain's running mate, the Republican National Committee spent more than $150,000 on clothing and make-up for Gov. Sarah Palin, her husband, and even her infant son,(the son that is always passed from hand to hand). Palin has received the equivalent of $2,500 in clothes per day from places such as Saks Fifth Avenue (where RNC expenditures totaled nearly $50,000) and Neiman Marcus (where the governor had a $75,000 spree)

This is the week where the Republican ticket is trying to highlight its connection to the working class. I mean Joe the Plumber (the tax evading, contracted apprentice) was used (and still being used) as a showpiece for the working class.

Palin's fashion budget for several weeks was more than four times the median salary of an American plumber ($37,514). To put it another way: Palin received more valuable clothes in one month than the average American household spends on clothes in 80 years. A Democrat put it in even blunter terms: her clothes were the cost of health care for 15 or so people.

25 Years In Prison For A Rape Not Committed.

Sadly this is not a new story. There are so many stories like this in our prison system. Thankfully with the help of DNA many prisoners are now being exonerated. Johnnie Earl Lindsey wrote six letters to a Dallas County court seeking post-conviction DNA testing to prove his innocence.

This past Friday, he walked out of the courtroom a free man. He becomes the 20th Dallas County man proven innocent by DNA testing since 2001, although one of those men will be retried by prosecutors.

State Justice Judge Larry Mitchell issued an impassioned apology from the bench. "I can't tell you how sorry I am this happened to you. Your freedom was taken away from you for all these years," Mitchell said. "There's a saying that justice delayed is justice denied. Justice was delayed for too long in your case.

I know this is cheesy but one song that I love to listen to on the Road is "Crusin'" by Smokey Robinson. This song always puts me in a mellow mood. It is really good when you are starting out. (don't listen to it when you are tired, cause it will mellow you out).





The next song is a old school classic from Jamaica. This is Dubstyle. The artist is Dillinger and he is dedicating this song to his motorcyle a "Honda CB 200". This was the jam back in the day (70's).





I had to throw another classic in there. IF you want a "TRUE" road trip song you got to listen to War's "LOW RIDER ." That song was the BOMB!!

Nation of Islam Leader Dies

Imam W.D. Mohammed, who succeeded his father as leader of the Nation of Islam but abandoned its teachings of black supremacy and moved thousands of its followers into mainstream Islam, died Tuesday. He was 74. It is said he died from complications of Diabetes and a stroke. Mohammed,was the son of Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad

Oprah Throws Party For U. S. Olympic Medalist

Oprah Winfrey threw a rousing welcome home party for more than 150 U.S. Olympic medal winners on Wednesday (according to Reuters.com) that was a salute to the athletes and a pep rally for efforts to bring the 2016 summer games to America.

I think that was really nice. The United States team did so well in the Olympics. Swimmer Michael Phelps, who came back from last month's games in Beijing with a record eight gold medals, told Winfrey his feat had not sunk in but "I need to get back home" to Maryland to see friends and his pet bulldog.

I really enjoyed the swimming matches. Usually I am all in the track and field but this year I found myself watching some weird events (well not weird, but just different from what I usually watch).

I even watched ping pong and fencing. All in all it was a really good Olympics. I still think those Chinese gymnast were under age, but I guess only time will tell on that one.

R..Kelly Acquitted

Well, it doesn't matter what you feel about this case, the fact is it is over. R.Kelly has been acquitted of all charges. R. Kelly has been acquitted of child pornography charges that he appeared on a videotape having sex with a girl as young as 13.

The jury read the verdict shortly after 2 p.m. today (EST). They cleared the R&B superstar of all 14 counts. (AP News)

Kelly's Attorney Ed Genson said the defense team is "ecstatic." Kelly held his attorneys hands as the 14 not-guilty verdicts were read and tears rolled down his face.

Chicago Sun-Times rock critic Jim DeRogatis received the video anonymously in 2002 and turned it over to police. The tape resulted in the charges against the singer, now 41, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, but has taken overs six years for the case to go to trial.

Do I believe he did it? Yes I do. However, not once did his music ever suffer because of this.

Paris States "West Africa" a Great Country

See the mind is "indeed" a terrible thing to waste. She makes "Nicole Simpson" look smart. Good grief crazy woman, West Africa is not a country.

Usually I don't give any credence to stupid ignorant comments but I had to post his doozy by Paris Hilton. Maybe she got that knowledge while she communicated with her jail buddies in Los Angeles.

While vacationing with her boyfriend, Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, in Johannesburg, South Africa, this past weekend, Paris was asked for her thoughts on South Africa. Her response?

"I LOVE Africa in general, South Africa and West Africa. They are both great countries.
